Robert J. MacNiven, Esq.

Background

Robert J. MacNiven received a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University, and in 1972, he received his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law.


Mr. MacNiven serves as a Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor from 1972 until 1977 during which he was a trial team leader, head of the gambling and narcotics task force, and prosecutor for the Grand Jury. Following his time as a Prosecutor, he joined and became a partner in a general practice in East Brunswick with an emphasis on family law and real estate law. In 2006, Mr. MacNiven joined Shamy, Shipers & Lonski, P.C., handling principally matrimonial law, other family matters, and real estate.


Mr. MacNiven serves as an Early Settlement Panelist for the Middlesex County Family Court and is a New Jersey Superior Court Rule 140 Approved Family Mediator. He also serves as a municipal prosecutor for two local municipalities.


Over the years, Mr. MacNiven has been Counsel for the St. Bart's Pop Warner Football Organization, served on the board of the Literacy Volunteers of Middlesex County, and served on the board for the Allentown Pop Warner Football Organization. He also has written numerous articles for a monthly local publication.


Mr. MacNiven is a proud member of the Middlesex County Bar Association.
