Darren M. Pfeil received a Bachelor of Arts from Lehigh University in 2012, graduating summa cum laude. He received a Graduation Award for Service, was a Baccalaureate Student Speaker, and was Phi Beta Kappa.
In 2015, Mr. Pfeil received a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law and a Concentration in Intellectual Property Law, Entertainment Law Track, graduating cum laude and in the top 25% of his class. He received Graduation Award for Humanitarian Achievement.
During law school, Mr. Pfeil interned at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark: Immigration Legal Services, the United States Postal Service - Law Department Northeast (in New York City), BMG Chrysalis (BMG Rights Management (US) LLC) (in New York City), Seton Hall Law Center for Social Justice: Equal Justice Clinic, and for Shamy, Shipers & Lonski, P.C.
After his graduation from Seton Hall University School of Law, Mr. Pfeil served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Honora O'Brien Kilgallen, J.S.C.
Mr. Pfeil has authored the article, "Let's Play, Let's Infringe? Let's Play Videos Uploaded to YouTube, Copyright Infringement, and the Fair Use Defense," which has been cited internationally and domestically. During his judicial clerkship, Mr. Pfeil prepared and gave a presentation entitled, "Drug Court Expungements: An analysis of P.L. 2015, c.261 as it pertains to the new Drug Court Expungements."
Since 2016, Mr. Pfeil has been an attorney at Shamy, Shipers & Lonski, P.C. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. He is a municipal prosecutor for several local municipalities.
Mr. Pfeil attended ReedPop's New York City Comic Con in October 2017 as an Entertainment Law Professional. Mr. Pfeil is passionate about the Wills for Heroes pro bono programs, in which wills, living wills, health care powers of attorney, and financial powers of attorneys are drafted for first responders, veterans, and their spouses.
